Susan McDermott of Chicago, Illinois, is a partner and U.S. Strategic Research Director in Mercer’s Wealth business. She works with global colleagues on the development of Mercer’s intellectual capital, which is focused on educating clients and identifying interesting investment ideas and trends that could benefit their portfolios. For more than 30 years, she worked directly with institutional clients providing investment advice on strategic asset allocation, manager selection, and portfolio construction. In addition, she is a member of the Not-for-Profit Investment Committee and the Global Asset Allocation Committee. Susan is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Chicago, as well as the Chicago Finance Exchange. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing from Northwestern University.
Susan and her husband have two children. They live in Chicago and have a summer home in South Haven, Michigan, and enjoy spending time on the east and west sides of Lake Michigan.
